AIDEATION

The new age of ideas and making

For chilli mind's 25th birthday I spoke at the Südflügel in Kassel about the many people who use AI and do not build with it themselves. Below you will find all 20 slides to click through, the PDF and the core ideas in writing.

Die KernideenThe core ideas

  1. Anyone can build now

At the Claude Community House in Barcelona, 120 people came to a hackathon on a public holiday in September. People with no coding background went home after one day with a working app. The models are available to everyone. What gets built with them depends on the people who use them.

  2. And the other 99?

Jakob Nielsen's 90-9-1 rule (2006) says one in a hundred creates, nine contribute and ninety watch. At Code with Claude in London in May, a similar figure came up: 2 to 4 per cent of users actively build. Most people want to get to a good result quickly. More training changes little, because prompting is the punch card of our time.

  3. You are the cooks

I asked the room who had already built an app with AI. A few hands. Then, who cooks. Far more. The language model is the stove, and you can swap it. Your rules are the recipe book, with tone of voice, corporate identity, formats, image rights and data protection. The worktop is the interface, one tab per task, operated with buttons. The person stays head chef and sets the direction.

  4. The rules already exist

The brand manual as a PDF, the tone of voice as a Word file, the image style from 2023. In a cockpit these rules shape every single output. We call it freedom in borders. The pantry only holds what fits the brand. Whatever someone mixes, the result is usable. Anyone who wants more tells the cockpit: fresher, more serious, once more.

“You usually have the rules already. They sit somewhere on a hard drive, nobody follows them, or people have forgotten they exist.”On stage, 22 October 2026, translated from German
  5. Software becomes made to measure

Excel can do everything, a little for everyone. Asana does projects, the same for everyone. A cockpit does exactly your marketing, with your rules. That leads to the guiding question of how you put your organisation on the right AI track.

  6. Use it. And improve it.

Most people use the cockpit and get to a good result quickly. The curious ones, around 2 to 4 per cent, improve it. Their improvements flow back into the cockpit, for everyone.

“Those who just want to use it, use it. Those who are creators improve it.”On stage, 22 October 2026, translated from German
  7. Time is the new design dimension

In many marketing teams a single post takes days until copy, visuals and sign-off are done. On stage, the Social Media Creator we built for chilli mind ran live over my phone's hotspot. The morning after, I ran it again. One sentence, four channels, 19 seconds.
